HOW TO MAKE CHICKEN BIRYANI: AN EASY AND SIMPLE INDIAN RECIPE
Chicken Biryani is a savory chicken and rice dish that includes layers of chicken, rice, and aromatics that are steamed together. The bottom layer of rice absorbs all the chicken juices as it cooks, giving it a tender texture and rich flavor, while the top layer of rice turns out white and fluffy.
Ingredients:
Chicken | 500 g |
Basmati Rice (soaked for 20 minutes) | 3 cups (500 g) |
Onions (medium, thinly sliced) | 4 (250 g) |
Tomatoes or tomato paste | 4 (250 g) |
Yogurt (beaten) | 1 & 1/4 cup (250 g) |
Garlic (paste) | 2 tbsp |
Ginger (paste) | 2 tbsp |
Oil | 3/4 cup (150 ml) |
National Biryani Recipe Mix | 1 packet (39 g) |
Step by step:
Cooking Method (For 1 Packet):
Fry: Heat oil, fry onions till light brown.
Cook: Add meat, stirring frequently on medium heat for 5 minutes. For beef/mutton, add 4-5 cups of water and cook on low flame until the meat is tender (water is not required for chicken). Add tomatoes, ginger, garlic, yogurt and National Biryani Recipe Mix and cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes
Boil: In a separate pan take 12 glasses of water, 3 tbsp of salt and boil the rice until 3/4 done.
Layer: Make a layer of half the rice, put the layer of meat and cover with second layer of rice (sprinkle zarda colour and kewra essence as per need).
Simmer: Simmer the rice for 5 minutes on high flame, reduce the flame and cook for another 10 minutes.
Serve: Delicious Biryani is ready. Serve with raita and salad.
